How to change a robot vacuum side brush
A side brush is small, but it does a lot of the edge work. If its bristles are bent, missing, or noisy, a replacement may help.
Before you start
Check your robot's exact model number and buy a brush that lists it as compatible. Have a soft towel and a small screwdriver ready if your model uses a screw.
Replace the brush
- Power off the robot and remove it from the dock.
- Turn it over on a soft towel to protect the sensors and top cover.
- Remove the screw, lift off the old brush, and clear hair around the mount.
- Fit the new brush flat against the mount and tighten the screw gently.
- Turn the brush by hand to check that it moves freely, then run a short clean.
When to check it again
Inspect the bristles during regular cleaning. Three to six months is a useful planning range, but wear depends on flooring, pets, and use. Replace it sooner if it no longer reaches the edges.
